Comedian Russell Brand Calls for Revolution to Throw Out Democracy

While I disagree with Russell Brand’s refusal to vote, I agree with many of his other statements.

He doesn’t need to be “given the right” to start a revolution. He’s “taking the right” to do so for himself. Like many people who come from the losing end of the political system, he sees a broken world system that isn’t working. Those on the receiving end of this system often retreat to drugs, alcohol and other toxic behaviors.

This is a system that is destroying the environment and is impoverishing a majority of the people on the planet. So what if it was voted into power? Does the vote give this system the right to do these acts? Absolutely not.

Whether I like his comedy or not, whether I agree with his values or not, I do understand his anger and respect his commitment towards fighting an evil system.
